Father’s Day “Super Dad” Card

Project Steps:

1. Step 1:

   Cut a piece of Black construction paper to 9" wide and 6" tall.

2. Step 2:

   Cut a piece of Blue construction paper to be 4-7/16" wide and 6" tall. Glue to the inside, center of card.

3. Step 3:

   Fold both the left and right edges to the center of the paper. Fold down the top corners to the outside edge, this will be the shirt collar.
    

4. Step 4:

   Using the Pocket Template, cut a pocket out of Black construction paper. Use a white gel pen to draw stitch marks to the edges of the pocket. Glue only the bottom and side edges to the card so the top is open.

   

5. Step 5:

   Cut a piece of blue construction paper to 1" square. This will be the pocket square. Decorate as desired. Optional, leave a fun note on the back for Dad to find. Insert pocket square into pocket.

   

6. Step 6:

   To create the super hero emblem, use the template and cut out a large diamond shape out of Red construction paper, and a smaller diamond out of Yellow construction paper. Cut out a large letter D from red construction paper.

   a. Glue the Yellow diamond to the center of the Red diamond. Glue the D to the center of the Yellow diamond. Place inside the card on the top of the blue construction paper.

   

7. Step 7:

   Using the Tie Template cut a tie out of Red construction paper. Glue the tie to the front left flap of the card. Glue the tie so half of it hangs over the edge of the Black paper.

   

8. Step 8:

   Glue four small buttons to the front of the shirt, opposite of the tie. Only glue half of the button, so the other half hangs over the Black construction paper.

   

9. Step 9:

   Use a fine tip black marker to write the message and sign the card.
