Heavier Weight for Better Performance
Tru-Ray is made of Premium Heavyweight 72 lb. (114 gsm) paper which is at least 45% heavier than the leading brand of groundwood construction paper, providing better strength and performance.
Why is this important?
This thick, strong paper can handle crisp curling, folding, and scoring without tearing. Its smooth texture is ideal for gluing, painting, and drawing with crayons, markers, or colored pencils. It’s no wonder that students’ projects always look their best with Tru-Ray.
SulphitE Vs. Groundwood Constrution Paper
Tru-Ray 100% sulphite construction paper has long, strong fibers that interlock, allowing for an even, smooth tone, a hard work surface, and intense colors. It accepts both dry and wet mediums. Sulphite construction paper folds great, glues well, cuts nicely and is fade resistant, acid free, and lignin free.
Groundwood construction paper, made by leading brand competitors, uses ground wood pulp in the manufacturing process which yields a less durable paper. Groundwood construction paper only accepts dry mediums. Colors are not as vibrant, and clean folding and curling are more difficult to achieve.

My students love this construction paper in my classroom. Not only does the variety of colors make for fun projects but the quality of the paper is great. It does not tear easily when cutting and holds up to strong little hands when necessary. This is the only brand that I’ll purchase for my classroom when it comes to construction paper!

I was looking for some new construction paper for my classroom when I came across this package. It is a great package of paper. The pages are thicker and more durable than most construction paper I have used in the past. I would recommend these to school teachers.

This Tru Ray Construction Pad is perfect for my needs as a teacher as I prepare for the beginning of the year. The paper is thick and sturdy and the colors are bright and are staying true. The pad comes with a wide range of fun happy colors and I can't wait to use them all.

As a teacher I find there is always a use for construction paper be it elementary middle or high school. I like Tru-Ray because of the weight of the paper and the trueness of the colors. Red is red and blue is blue not a derivative. The colors are bold but not neon. The thickness of the paper allows it to be used for projects and on bulletin boards but also remains easy enough for young school children to cut.
